FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:

The OE64 is the newest member of the line of luxury bluewater sailing catamarans by OQS. The 64 has a stronger focus on performance, having the Ocean Explorer 60 setting the benchmark for luxury catamarans the 64 offers the same interior layout with a longer waterline and different deck layout. More focused on fast cruising and racing.

The 64 offers a great opportunity for a fast yet comfortable catamaran that can be eco firendly. Using materials like flax for a stiffer and lighter hull yet gives you the edge on the racing course. Something to include in your modern eco-friendly catamaran is propulsion, OQS offers a range of different hybrid and fully electric options for the Ocean Explorer 64.

Her interior layout can be customized to fit anything between 2-5 cabins depending on the preferences. The helm station can be brought inside the cockpit for extra protection if you are planning to cruise shorthanded.

Materials used a carefully chosen to be wear-resistant and eco-friendly in the long run.

Her chosen build category allows for commercial charter operations should her owner decide.

BUILDERS COMMENTS:

BALANCED FOR PERFORMANCE AND COMFORT

The OE64 can be considered a true-blue water performance catamaran, versatile and opted for circumnavigation and safe sailing around the globe. This model is the first model of the Ocean Explorer line and the boats delivered so far have been sailed in different places around the globe. Sailing the OE64 you are getting a good performance catamaran without feeling compromised on the comfort and quality of the interior and layout of the yacht.

The catamaran is designed for shorthanded sailing, and with experienced owners the yacht can be taken out by two persons only, but naturally for longer sailing it is always good to have more hands to make the journey more enjoyable. With all electric winches and furlers this yacht is ideal for both young families and older couples for easy sail handling and comfort during sailing. The model has been developed through past deliveries, so there is a large variety of customizations already done together with proven good solutions. Double helm stations are positioned aft of the cockpit for safe and easy steering

PRESS REVIEW:

“…Frers may be pretty well known for drawing elegant monohulls. What happens when he does a multihull?... Ocean Explorer are based right next door to Swan and Baltic in Jakobstad… This Ocean Explorer is as close as you can get to a Swan in a catamaran; it’s pretty special…”

“…Immediately noticeable from a monosailer point of view is how nice it will be to stand right here in the quarters with full vision for sailing… You can see through to the opposite bow from the hull thanks to the vision straight through that coachroof with the amount of glass in there… A very beamy design, but also elegant and the freeboard is relatively low. It’s a Frers so it’s a sailor’s boat!.. I’m told by the skipper that it is very easy for two people to manage this boat for long distance sailing…”

“…This one is a charter layout and is laid out accordingly with a five cabin layout. Just look at how beautifully it has been finished and the wow effect of her light open interior. It really is to coin an overused phrase, panoramic vision when you sit down in the saloon… The large galley is a very nice place to stand and work at. The nav station in the alcove besides the mast has excellent forward vision. The teak decks continue inside and there is a proper watertight door to the forward cockpit which is for the halyards and a nice seat for maintaining watch. It’a a cracking boat. A real sailor’s catamaran!...A very nice clean Lorimar rig, spreaderless and unusually for a catamaran of this size, a boom vang...”

“…It really is Swan-type finish quality throughout the boat… A very calming boat to be aboard… I think it’s all the natural light.. I could certainly get used to this…”
